San Ramon,
CA – January 4, 2006 – Relevant
Business Systems, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
provider to leading Aerospace & Defense, Engineer-to-Order,
Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul, Contract Manufacturers and other
project-based firms announced today that a significant product enhancement
enabling rate pooling in support of Incurred Costs Proposal (ICP)
reports, will be available in February.
As government contractors face increasing requirements
on Cost Plus and Cost Plus Fixed Fee contracts, the need for increased
agility in ERP reporting capabilities has grown commensurately.
The government frequently no longer accepts standard overhead pool
rates derived from prior year actuals to justify overhead charges.
Since most ERP systems, even those well equipped to handle project-based
reporting, lack the capability to gather actual overhead costs,
many contractors are now forced to manually extract this information
from the ERP system – a time-consuming process often further
protracted by the necessity of also invoicing outside of the system
to incorporate non-standard line items.
Relevant’s new rate pooling capability streamlines
and automates reporting requirements by gathering and storing actual
overhead, allowing it to be analyzed and reported in individualized,
customer centric modes. This flexibility encompasses both time frames
and choice of line items, both of which can be varied to adhere
to individual contract requirements.
Key features include:
- Ability to compare ACWP (Actual Work
of Cost Performed) with Applied Overhead, on demand or periodically
- Segregation of cost types as billable
or not per individual customer contract
- Automated billing based on the user’s
choice of overhead calculations
- Automated invoicing for Cost Type contracts
including:
- Cost Reimbursement Contracts
- Cost Plus Incentive Fee
- Cost Plus Award Fee
- Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF)
- Cost Contracts
- T&M Contracts
Relevant continues to support firms operating
under Fixed Fee Contracts through its DD250 capability.
The new rate pooling feature adds to Relevant’s
already advanced government reporting capabilities, including MRP
Planning by WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and Earned Value Reporting.
According to Pat Garrehy, President and CEO of Relevant Business
Systems, “With increased government contracting, we find that
more and more ERP providers are paying lip service to the specific
needs of this market. But few have the kind of commitment to the
market that Relevant has demonstrated from day one of our 20+ years
serving government contractors. Rate pooling is functionality driven
by customer need, not marketing spin.”
