In fact, the company’s development staff was busy designing a long-anticipated, landmark product for discrete manufacturers – a milestone for ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Software.

Relevant Business Systems today announced the official launch of the Business Wizard, an “Information Management, Data Mining and Navigation” tool, offered as a complement to the company’s top-ranked ERP package, Relevant.

The Business Wizard is “just what the industry has been waiting for,” declares Relevant’s CEO, President and Co-founder, Patrick Garrehy. “There is nothing like it out there.” The new software provides executives and managers across all segments of the enterprise the ability to access information from otherwise complex ERP data and to create a meaningful working environment that “makes sense”.

Managers from disparate departments – Purchasing, Shop Floor, Sales, Costs, Inventory Control – can create templates, charts, graphs, spreadsheets and reports based on the data gathered, to retrieve, provide and inform in a more analytical way and then launch from there to perform updates and other transactions necessary to communicate activity across the enterprise. The Business Wizard is designed to “lay over” the entire system in a “windows-like” fashion, such that individual users create specific views of the information in the system from which decisions can be made to execute tasks and activities at both tactical and strategic levels.

The clearest advantage to using the Business Wizard is its ability to render complex data from any department within a company into an understandable, real-time format for users. For example, suppose the Director of Operations asks his IS department for a report based on collected data. In many instances, this first request leads to a second or even a third as the manager reviews the data provided in the initial and following requests. Using the Business Wizard, a VP of Sales can view information and generate drill down views in real time as he realizes more information is required. Buyers can create pie charts depicting vendor ratings that are continuously updated in real time as receipts are made to the stockroom. Managers equipped with this kind of real-time analysis capability through the use of the Business Wizard make better decisions faster and better utilize direct and indirect resources throughout the enterprise.

According to Garrehy, the Business Wizard “gives middle, upper management and operations staff access to information in ways not otherwise possible.” The software contains built-in templates, which are “ready-to-use” throughout an entire enterprise or the end user can create them. Intuitive in nature, the system is designed in a windows-like format, with “point and click” functionality.
