San Ramon,
CA – July 18, 2001 – Extending
complete, in-depth document control capabilities to its engineer-to-order,
build-to-order, discrete manufacturing, and maintenance organization
customers, Relevant’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) users
can now attach electronic documents to records or menus in the ERP.
They can also add reference items to Bills of Material, attach objects
to records or programs, and attach their own help items to Relevant
fields and menus.
“Discrete manufacturers and maintenance
organizations seldom get to do the same job twice,” asserts
Patrick Garrehy, Relevant Business Systems' President and CEO. “Although
different customers often require similar products, these items
typically have differentiators that provide competitive advantages.
With documentation provided throughout the manufacturing or maintenance
process, both our users and their customers are assured that what
was ordered is what gets delivered.”
Relevant’s ERP provides document tracking
on many levels. Documents can be added to the engineering database
as reference items and included in bills of material. Customers
can attach assembly instructions, videos, spreadsheets or good manufacturing
practices (GMP) to items, routings or work orders. Documents can
be copied from one record to another.
Relevant also provides an On-line Documentation
module with user guides, file layouts and context-sensitive help.
Customers can add annotations to Relevant’s help or attach
their own help to ERP fields and menus without requiring programming.
The e-documents can be in any standard format,
including Word, PDF, CAD, Windows Help, HTML, EDI Forms, and even
graphic and video forms.
